For the fifth year in a row, the collaboration between URBAN Photo Awards and the Municipality of Trieste will give life to a prestigious exhibition-award at the Civico Museo Sartorio for four finalist projects in the 2022 edition of the contest.

The projects on display were selected by Claudia Colecchia (Archivist executive officer, head of the Fototeca e Biblioteca dei Civici Musei di Storia ed Arte del Comune di Trieste), Lorenza Resciniti (Conservator of the Civici Musei di Storia ed arte, head of the Civico Museo Sartorio) and Michela Messina (Conservator of the Civici Musei di Storia ed Arte, responsible for the Civico Museo d’Arte Orientale).

The group exhibit will be held as part of the Trieste Photo Days 2022 festival and will be open from 28 October to 27 November 2022, from Thursday to Sunday from 10.00 to 17.00.

The four selected authors will attend the inauguration and award ceremony to present their projects to the public (date and time TBD).

Antonio Bernardino Coelho – The world today!

A series of still-life artistic photos that reflect on various current problems: from climate change to the extinction of animal species through the impact of energy sources.

Gabriele Galimberti – The Ameriguns

The spread of firearms in the United States, from New York to Honolulu, documented with an ironic and grotesque edge.

Roman Robroek – The Decline of the Chruch in Italy

An evocative journey among the abandoned churches in Italy.

Ulli Mosconi Zupin – The winter sea

The melancholy charm of the winter sea: deserted beaches, skies that merge with water, silences that invite meditation, lonely human figures that wander like ghosts.
